Twig - Introducing Forward Deployed Engineers

Introducing Twig Forward Deployed Engineers

Ship your RAG and agent features in weeks, not quarters — with our engineers in your repo, not on a support ticket.

Today we're launching Twig Forward Deployed Engineers: senior engineers from our team who embed with yours to design, build, evaluate, and harden the RAG and agent layer of your product.

Not consultants. Not a solutions-architecture call. Engineers who open your codebase, write the retrieval pipeline, build the eval harness, and stay until it's in production.

Why we built this

We spent three years and 200+ iterations on Twig's own retrieval and agent stack — 150K+ interactions, three production RAG strategies, Voice AI Agents, Email Automation Agents and a block-based agent DSL that compiles to a finite state machine, and an eval system with drift detection.

Along the way we learned what every team building on LLMs eventually learns: the demo takes a week, production takes six months.

The gap isn't model access. It's everything after the first happy path — retrieval that survives messy, contradictory documents; agents deterministic enough to debug and flexible enough to be useful; evals that catch regressions before your customers do; latency budgets that hold under concurrency; and the index drift six weeks post-launch that nobody notices until churn shows up.

Every team we talked to was re-deriving this from scratch. Most burned two quarters. We already paid that tuition.

What you get

  • Retrieval architecture — index and chunking design, hybrid + re-ranked retrieval, query rewriting, freshness and invalidation. We'll tell you when you don't need RAG at all; that answer is free.

  • Agent design — moving from prompt-chain sprawl to a structured, inspectable state machine: tool boundaries, control flow, failure paths, guardrails.

  • Evals and observability — the deliverable teams underestimate most. Golden datasets, regression suites in CI, drift detection, tracing that makes a bad answer explainable in under five minutes.

  • Latency and cost — model routing, semantic caching, streaming, parallelization. We hold a sub-1s p50 on our own voice stack and bring the same budget discipline to yours.

  • Handoff — architecture docs, runbooks, paired implementation. Your team owns it, not us.

How it works

Scoping call (30 min) → we tell you honestly whether you need us. Diagnostic week → architecture assessment + eval baseline, written, yours to keep either way. Embedded build → your repo, your Slack, your sprint cadence. Weekly demos against eval targets, not vibes. Handoff → docs and a team that can extend it without us.

Monthly retainer for a set number of engineer-days.

No per-seat licensing, no mandatory platform purchase — FDE works whether you build on Twig or entirely on your own stack.

Get started

We're taking a limited number of engagements this quarter. Book time if:

  • Your retrieval quality is "fine" but nobody can prove it

  • Your agent works in demo and breaks in the wild

  • You have no eval suite, or one nobody trusts

  • You're weeks from a launch date you no longer believe in

30 minutes. Bring your architecture. We'll bring ours.
